The People Behind the Kitchen!
This page introduces one of the people behind Boarding Axe Kitchen. While the organization operates collectively, its work is carried out by individuals who bring distinct skills, experience, and perspectives to our mission. These biographies are provided to recognize those contributions, offer transparency in leadership and operations, and reflect our belief that community impact is built by people, not abstractions.
About Lindsey

Lindsey Walker is a founding member in 2023 and currently the Madame President of the Board of Directors for Boarding Axe Kitchen. She studied at Castleton University, back when it was still known as Castleton State College, where she earned a BS in Business Marketing. She also studied at North Country Community College, receiving a Certificate in Practical Nursing.
With a background that bridges business operations and hands-on care, Lindsey brings a practical, systems-oriented mindset to her work. Professionally she works as the Director of Sales for Medical Device Academy, where she manages the sales team, coordinates introductory calls with clients, prepares proposals, oversees invoicing, and supports the organization’s billing operations. This work allows her to function as a Board Member of Boarding Axe Kitchen without compensation.
Outside of work, Lindsey’s interests balance precision and creativity. She enjoys pottery and watercoloring. As a cook she often contributes menu items that are reflective of rustic comfort driven American home cooking. Because of medical and dietary restrictions Lindsey also cooks exclusively gluten-free which has built a niche position for her on the team as the in-house gluten-free baking expert. She is an especially skilled baker, with a particular talent for cookies and pie crusts, techniques she honed through hands-on classes with the King Arthur Baking Company.
Professionally, Lindsey’s experience in kitchens and restaurants has been rooted in front-of-house operations, where coordination, communication, and guest experience are as critical as what’s coming out of the kitchen.
About This Work
Boarding Axe Kitchen is a Vermont-incorporated nonprofit organization. Board members are not compensated for their service.

Our work follows a simple principle we call Food Supporting Food. Recipes, stories, and educational content are created and shared publicly, generating awareness, skills, and engagement. Over time, that content supports real-world community meals, food access efforts, and hands-on service.

This Content-to-Community Impact Loop ensures that what is learned, documented, and shared in the kitchen is returned to the community in the form of nourishment, dignity, and opportunity.
